Odum emerged from a very specific market need: to be the answer for anyone looking for a construction company with a strong concern for sustainability. Wood is our main resource and we have learned to respect the rhythm of nature. We were already born with a 20 years’ experience in this sector, result of a path travelled in the major companies in this field, and we have a highly specialized technical team to support you in all of your project phases.

We work with some of the largest European modular and sustainable construction companies, with exclusive representation in the Portuguese market, offering our customers a wide and complete range of construction solutions.

The roots of our business

Our commitment to sustainability is at heart of our company and is the foundation of everything we do. We believe that we can offer the best housing solutions, in the most ecological way possible.

The wood we use comes exclusively from sustainable forest holdings, this is, forests cultivated and exploited according to ecological criteria, that allow to maintain their biodiversity, productivity, regeneration capacity and vitality necessary to fulfill their ecological, economic and social role, essential to forests and planet preservation. Thereby, we maintain our ambition to always develop our activity with a zero-carbon impact.

Our company name comes from Eugene Odum, considered by many to be the Father of Ecology. The choice of our name, more than a tribute to the famous North American biologist, seals our commitment to the planet.

Começou a sua carreira nas áreas de marketing e comunicação. Em 2003 fundou a Horservice [...]

Started his career in marketing and communication. In 2003 he founded the company Horservice. Miguel began his career in marketing and communication. In 2003 he founded the company Horservice, a company that was sold to Grupo Carmo, where he worked for the last 16 years, always in the wood construction sector. At Grupo Carmo, he started as a product manager, was assistant to the chairman of the board of directors, general director of Carmo Estruturas and, in the last 10 years, he was the group’s administrator. In 2022 he founded Odum.

Vasco Baptista

Iniciou a sua carreira como orçamentista, acompanhando também obras de construção civil. [...]

Vasco began his career as a budget expert, also following construction works. Vasco began his career as a budget expert, also following construction works. In 2004 he joined Grupo Médi as head of the carpentry department (production and assembly), from which he left to Grupo Carmo. At Carmo he worked as a Construction Manager for 12 years, where he monitored the largest and most complex wood works built in Portugal, Spain, Angola, Gabon and Senegal, among others. In 2020 he started working as a freelancer, as an inspector of wood structures. In 2022 he founded Odum.

Filipa Monteiro

Licenciada em Arquitetura pela Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa em 2003. Iniciou a sua actividade [...]

Graduated in Architecture at Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa in 2003. She started her activity. Filipa graduated in Architecture at Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa in 2003. She started her professional activity in Lisbon as an interior architect and later, in Barcelona, Filipa worked at the Guibernau-Mateu Arquitectes studio between 2006 and 2009. She then worked in projects and works monitoring at the Prebuild Group between 2010-2015. Later involved in building rehabilitation, Filipa worked in the company Select Build and, more recently, as a freelancer, Filipa carried out construction projects in wood. In 2022 she joined the Odum team.
